Following a period of limited engagement, a pivotal turning point occurred in 2018 when the President of the Republic attended the 6th Summit of the Organization as a Guest of Honor. In 2019, the country ratified the Nakhchivan Agreement, officially becoming a full member of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS).
