Namangan-made Trucks

The design capacity of a Hyundai factory projected to be built in the Namangan region is expected to be 3 thousand trucks and buses a year.

The company will assemble trucks with a carrying capacity from 1 to 50 tons, intercity, international and tourist buses, as well as specialized vehicles.

In the first phase, 8-20 vehicles will be produced here a day, and 1,000 units a year. Within three years, this figure will be brought to 3 thousand, namely, 2 thousand trucks and 1 thousand buses. In the beginning the spare parts will be imported from the Republic of Korea, and, in accordance with the localization program, the production of components will be phased in over the next three years.

With the launch of the new enterprise, about 1 thousand jobs will be created; in the future their number will grow to 6 thousand.

The Korean side said that after the completion of the construction and the start of operation of the plant, it intends to establish cooperation with educational institutions of Uzbekistan in order to provide the sphere with professional qualified personnel, workers and technologists.
