On July 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Yunusabad district of the city of Tashkent

The head of our state got acquainted with activities of the Security department of the Main department of internal affairs of Tashkent city.

Radical reforms are being implemented in the system of internal affairs of our country. At the initiative of the head of our state, a new system providing accommodation of preventive officers in the makhalla, where they are working, their close interaction with citizens’ gatherings is being created. Employees of internal affairs bodies are provided with housing, cars and modern technical means.

Modern information and communication technologies are being introduced into the sphere, which plays an important role in strengthening peace and tranquility, and in protecting public order. A single fiber-optic network is being created. It connects all the main points of internal affairs bodies.

On July 8, the head of our state during his visit to Namangan region held a dialogue with employees of Khiva district department of internal affairs of Khorezm region in the office of prevention inspector of “Orzu” makhalla in Namangan, through a videoconference.

The Security department of the Main department of internal affairs of the city of Tashkent also uses modern information and communication technologies for ensuring public safety. “Safe city” situation control center is being organized in the main department. The Center will control and coordinate actions of road safety, fire safety, security services, patrol service and other services using geoinformation technologies. This work will be carried out with the help of outdoor video surveillance and modern signaling equipment installed in markets, educational and medical institutions, hotels, in the streets and other public places. This will help to prevent and promptly solve crimes and offenses.

The system of ensuring peace and tranquility must meet today’s requirements, said the head of our state. For organizing of an effective work it is necessary to master its capabilities to perfection and gradually introduce it into practice.

The President of our country noted the need of approbation of this control center in two years, increasing the knowledge of employees of internal affairs in information technologies, training relevant personnel in Tashkent university of information technologies named after Muhammad al-Khorazmiy and Inha university in Tashkent, coordinating the system and introducing it in all the cities of our country.

The head of our state visited “Islomobod” makhalla of Yunusabad district.

A presentation of the project on transition to 11-year school education was held in Yunusabad professional college of computer technologies, located in the territory of the makhalla. The event was attended by makhalla activists and parents of students.

Our people had brought up great thinkers who made a huge contribution to the development of world civilization. We must raise the youth worthy of our great ancestors, educated and enlightened individuals, said President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. School education is especially important in this. A school forms the adolescent’s personality in a favorable environment, students are under control of teachers and parents. There is different situation in colleges and lyceums. Therefore, taking into account opinions and proposals of parents and the general public, 11-year school education is re-organized.

The need for development of comprehensively thought-out educational programs for schools with 11-year education, providing them with qualitative literature was noted. Once a week, students will be able to study different professions in training and production complexes organized at schools or in professional colleges.

Continuing education at school or entering a professional college is a choice for the student himself/herself. It is important that youth would grow up as a well-mannered, in respect of their parents, as patriots of their country, said the President of our country.

3 165 people are living in “Islomobod” makhalla. However, there is no school in the territory of the makhalla. Children have to go to schools located in other makhallas. At the meeting, the makhalla activists and parents proposed transformation of Yunusabad professional college of computer technologies into a 11-year educational school. The President of our country instructed responsible officials to consider this proposal.

The head of our state was also provided with information on proposals for organization of “Temurbeklar maktabi” lyceums under the Ministry of defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with a group of activists of the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan. During the meeting, issues of full support of gifted youth, providing them with houses, organization of the House of young composers in the capital and others, were considered.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the project of this park that will be created on the bank of Bozsu canal.

In the park, it is envisaged to create special places for reading books, to build fountains, an amphitheater, exhibition pavilions, sports and health zones, organize archery and amateur fishing clubs, establish modern attractions. The park project is prepared in a harmonious combination with “Shahidlar hotirasi” (“Memory of martyrs”) memorial complex.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave instructions on turning the park into a center of culture and enlightenment, creating all conditions for readers, noted the need for rational use of natural relief in creation of the park, expansion of the landscaping zone due to ornamental trees and flowers.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Tokhir and Shokhista Tulaganovs’ family living in “Islomobod” makhalla of Yunusabad district.

The conversation was about reforms that are being implemented in our country and their results, educating the younger generation.

Honorable aksakal (elder) Shokhaydar-ota Shoismoilov wished preservation of peace and tranquility in the country, continuation of prosperous life for the population, strong health to the head of our state.

II International fruit and vegetable fair

II International fruit and vegetable fair will be held in Tashkent on September 6-8, 2017. Organizers of this fair are “Uzbekozikovkatholding" Holding Company, "Uzagroeksport" JSC, "Directorate of International fruit and vegetable fair" Ltd, "Uzvinosanoat-Holding" Holding Company, the Association of "Uzbekozikovkatzahira", "Uzexpocentre" NEC.
Main purposes of the fair are:

- wide acquaintance to foreign partners the potential of Uzbekistan in the sphere of fruit and vegetable production;

- establishing long-term and reciprocal partnership relations between the fruits and vegetables producers, processing enterprises and foreign companies-importers;

- conclusion of favorable on delivery of fruit and vegetable.

During the fair Uzbek companies will have the opportunity to present their products, find a new sales market for agricultural products and foreign business partners. As for foreign participants it is the opportunity to find Uzbek partners for supplying fruits and vegetables.

Wide range of food products such as fresh, dried and processed fruits and vegetables, melons and legumes, spices produced in Uzbekistan will be presented at the exhibition halls.

It is expected that more than 150 domestic fruits and vegetables processing suppliers, representatives of ministries, agencies and organizations from all regions of Uzbekistan will participate at the International fruits and vegetables fair with their products. Foreign partners will be supplied with all information they need.

It should be mentioned that local fruit and vegetable farmers and producers particularly interested in foreign processing and retail companies.

In order to create the favourable cooperative ties between local producers and foreign participants in the pavilions of “Uzexpocentre” will be organized special “conference rooms”, where suppliers and representatives of foreign trade enterprises can have direct negotiations for procurement of goods.

At the same time special tours to fruit and vegetable processing enterprises, cold storage facilities, and extensive gardens will be organized for foreign participants to show the infrastructure of local food sector.

INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
On upcoming visit of Afghan delegations to Uzbekistan

On July 19, 2017, the delegations of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan headed by the President’s National Security Advisor Mohammad Hanif Atmar and the Chief Adviser on Infrastructure, Technology and Human Resources Mohammad Humayon Qayoumi will arrive in Tashkent on a working visit.

The Program of the visit includes bilateral consultations on topical issues of the Uzbek-Afghan agenda.

A ceremony of signing an agreement on cooperation between the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Invest Finance Bank has taken place in Tashkent

Uzbekistan and Asian Development Bank have been consistently maintaining a mutually beneficial cooperation on implementation of priority programs and projects on modernization of the country's economy and infrastructure. To date, ADB has invested more than $6 billion of funds in nearly 60 joint projects.

During the visit of the Asian Development Bank delegation led by ADB President Takehiko Nakao this March, the sides signed four agreements on investment of $573 million of ADB funds for water supply, road construction, support of small business and private entrepreneurship, as well as the development of fruit and vegetable growing.

ADB has been successfully cooperating with commercial banks of our country under the trade finance program. In support of trade in Uzbekistan, ADB financed 467 agreements totaling almost $1.3 billion, 46 of which were agreements with small businesses. The constructive interaction has been underway with Asaka, Ipak Yo’li banks, Uzsanoatqurilishbank, Hamkorbank. InFinBank has also received an opportunity to participate in the program.

"The integration with the Asian Development Bank’s Trade Finance Program is a chance for us to support the private sector in the country, actively participate in large-scale reforms on the development of small business and private entrepreneurship," said Zikirillo Abdullayev, InFinBank Board Chairman. “That would contribute to the consistent development of the national economy, raising the level of people’s wellbeing.”

The ADB Trade Finance Program provides over 200 partner banks of the Asian continent with guarantees and loans to support trade. The system-based measures on ensuring the program’s effectiveness have strengthened trade relations in the region. The importance of the financial mechanism in the development of export-import transactions has been increasing. Since 2009, ADB allocated almost $26 billion of financial assistance to over 9,200 enterprises as part of the program in the Asian continent.

THE MEETING OF THE COOPERATION COUNCIL “UZBEKISTAN-EUROPEAN UNION”
Financial Agreement Signed

On July 17, 2017, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, who arrived in Brussels to attend the next meeting of the Cooperation Council “Uzbekistan-European Union”, met Stefano Manservisi, Director General of the European Commission's Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development (DEVCO), and Helga Schmid, the Secretary General of European External Action Service (EEAS).

As a logical continuation of the meeting, which was held in Tashkent on July 14, the priority directions of further deepening of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the EU were discussed, taking into account the readiness of the parties to strengthen and develop cooperation.

As a result of the negotiations, Abdulaziz Kamilov and Stefano Manservisi signed the Financial Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union on the implementation of “The Horticulture Development Project”. The Project, which comes into effect from the moment of signing, stipulates the EU allocation of grants in the amount of 21.5 million euros for the modernization and strengthening of the material and technical base of scientific research institutes under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources of Uzbekistan.
